South Cape Beach State Park
A beautiful barrier beach facing Nantucket Sound and Martha’s Vineyard, South Cape Beach is ideal for fishing, swimming, and walking. Several nice walking trails start out here. During the summer months, parking fees are collected during business hours. Daily and seasonal passes are available for residents and non-residents. Massachusetts residents aged 62 and over are entitled to a $10.00 senior parking pass for all Massachusetts State Park areas. These can be obtained at the beach during in-season business hours. Those with handicap license plates or placards are also entitled to free parking. The Town of Mashpee also operates a beach for residents (separate parking lot, sticker required).
A new boardwalk enables handicapped access to an overlook deck for regular wheelchairs. A beach wheelchair is available first-come first-served at the beach, or can be reserved in advance by calling the State Park Supervisor – 508-540-0152.
Please note: dogs are not allowed on the beach from April 1-September 30.
Swimming is at your own risk when no lifeguards are on duty.
