Description: Multiple Cape and Island communities are considering municipal-sponsored community wind projects. This workshop will explore the range of objectives which typically motivate community wind projects. The discussion will focus on identifying ownership and financing options which best reflect a community’s preferences and risk tolerance. The first session will summarize the ownership and financing structures used to date to illustrate the funding options currently available for community wind projects. The speakers also will outline the Federal and state incentive programs available for such projects. In the second session, the speakers will lead a more in-depth case study discussion regarding how a community approaches and decides on the ownership and financing structures for a community-based wind project.
Cost: There is no cost to attend but pre-registration is required
Audience: Selectmen, Town Administrators, Engineers, Planners, DPW Directors, Energy & Finance Committees, Conservation Commissions, Planning Boards, Federal and State Agency Staff, Consultants.
