Stories of devastating storms causing widespread damage in coastal communities have dominated the news in recent times. These costly events have affected people, property, livelihoods, as well as the psychology of those who live and work in coastal communities.

This workshop aims to:

  • highlight important natural coastal processes at work on Cape Cod (e.g. erosion) and impacts on the Cape Cod shoreline
  • discuss how and why Cape Cod communities are vulnerable to a variety of coastal risks
  • summarize what is being done from a regional level to provide communities with tools and resources to better prepare
  • engage realtors in a dialogue on what coastal resiliency means for their industry, and implications for dealing with flood and erosion risks and the buying and selling of property in the coastal zone.

Space is limited. Please RSVP by Tuesday, January 22, 2019 to assist us in planning.
